Emily Hine
Emily Hine is currently serving as Chief of Peace for The Shift Network which aims to empower a global movement of people who are creating an evolutionary shift of consciousness that in turn leads to a more enlightened society, one built on principles of sustainability, peace, health, and prosperity. In her previous role as President of HineSight Consulting, she recently served as Chief of Causes for Ideal Network, a social enterprise that donates 25% of revenue to nonprofits and schools. Ms. Hine also serves on the Advisory Board of GlobalMojo, the first web browser for socially conscious internet users.
Ms. Hine brings over 20 years of experience in fundraising, philanthropy and public relations. Over the course of her career, she has helped raise $150 million for nonprofit organizations across the United States. Ms. Hine has spent 1/3 of her career in the nonprofit sector, 1/3 of her career in the for-profit technology sector (Microsoft Corporation) and 1/3 of her career serving as bridge between the two sectors. Ms. Hine is considered a social entrepreneur, with a national reputation for forging successful partnerships that result in significant social change. She recently served on the Executive Team for Seeds of Compassion a global event with the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu that launched a worldwide compassion movement and pointed a spotlight on the importance of early learning in building healthier societies. In her role as Senior Director, Ms. Hine raised over $9 million (cash and in-kind support) in less than one year, oversaw the management of 1500 volunteers and facilitated a dialogue on Compassion in Giving with the Dalai Lama and world leaders in philanthropy.
In her volunteer time, Ms. Hine continues to advance the compassion movement and is a warrior for peace, supporting efforts to reduce violence in homes, schools, prisons and communities. She is developing a Covert Peace Operation to address the $800 billion spent on violence in the United States every year.
